About Gagome kelp

Gagome kelp is a precious kelp found only in seas from around Hakodate to the shores of Muroran city.
Rough patterns like tracery can be found on the body of the kelp. Recently it is gathering attention from around the world that gagome kelp includes healthy compositions called fucoidan which is expected to accelerate immunity and metabolism and give gagome kelp its strong glutinous feature.

Gagome kelp's glutinousness

Gagome kelp's glutinous feature comes from the seaweed's water soluble dietary fiber. For its rich nutrition, it is applied in various ways such as dietary supplements and cosmetic materials.

Fucoidan's beauty effects

One of gagome kelp's components, fucoidan is expected to have effects for anti-aging by antioxidant effects, preventing moisture loss by applying to skin, diet effects by lowering blood cholesterol and neutral fat, resolving constipation by holding moisture and recover intestinal activity, and stimulating hair growth by raising the productivity of hair growing proteins.

An entire 2 year old Shiroguchihama giant kelp from Hakodate is used to powder. By just a shake of the powder, the kelp will blend in to the dish giving it a rich and full body taste.
